K-12 Leadership Coaching

1:1 Support for K-12 School and District Leaders

The nuanced demands of a K-12 leader are difficult to navigate without support. EdConnective leadership coaches have a wide range of experience as leaders, meaning we can match Principals, Assistant Principals, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents to the right coach to support them according to their experience, schedule and need.

EdConnective Lead provides a peer partner to lead educators who understand their challenges and can support their growth as they support teachers and other lead educators on the front lines of student achievement. Participants experience a unique opportunity to learn from peers in a non-evaluative setting over the course of their partnership.

How does Leader Coaching Work?

  1. All participants attend a 3-hour coaching accelerator session to set the stage for a successful partnership.

  2. Participant is matched with an EdConnective expert instructional coach using 15+ factors

  3. Orientation meeting where participant and coach collaborate to set goals for the partnership

  4. Participant provides an artifact: e.g. A journal entry, a recording of themselves delivering PD, or some other piece such as a strategic plan, a data set, or perhaps an agreed deliverable from a previous meeting.

  5. EdConnective coach reviews the artifact

  6. Feedback session within 48 hours of recording

  7. Steps 4-6 are repeated throughout the 90-day partnership. There is no limit to the number of times the coach and participant can meet over the course of the 90 days.

Structure of a Feedback Session

Feedback sessions are 2-way conversations between coaches and participants. Feedback without modeling and practice isn’t actionable. In fact, research suggests that only 10% of educators can be told about a new skill and actually implement it in practice, but when that new skill is modeled, role-played and practiced, 95% can implement it!

Each feedback session with an EdConenctive coach includes a thorough & evidence-based review of a chosen artifact - which may include a weekly reflection, a strategy or action plan, or a video recording of a faculty meeting or coaching session the participant is facilitating. A significant portion of each session is then dedicated to modeling and practicing an action step based on the artifact.
